Patricio Cortés D.

Patricio has 15 years of experience in research, innovation and entrepreneurship, and 10 years of experience in structuring financial transactions in Latin America and the USA.

His academic work has focused on the study of business innovation processes, the link between innovation and entrepreneurship, the development of tools to measure innovation capacity and the development of a culture of innovation.

He was a founder of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Development, of the UDD Ventures Incubator, and National Manager of Entrepreneurship and SMEs at the Ministry of Economy. Previously he held executive positions in finance and business development in Latin America for PPL Global. Mr. Cortés has also been a member of the board of several investment funds, as well as companies supervised by the V.S., President of Sercotec and a member of the board of Inacap.

He is the author of several books and publications on innovation, and co-author of the “Most Innovative Companies Diagnostics ©” Methodology. He has participated in measuring the innovation capacities of more than 300 companies in Chile.

Patricio is a Commercial Engineer graduate from the University of Chile, with a degree in economics and an MBA from Babson University. He speaks Spanish and English.
